In addition to the invaluable regional support received from Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils GW3 has a range of strategic partnerships with both government and industry to deliver specific projects across the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region.

Advancing Regional Innovation Program encourages innovation across Queensland and supports local economies to create jobs for regional Queensland. GW3 collaborates with ARIP to deliver programs to the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region. It enables local entrepreneurs, business leaders and key industries to collaborate closely and with government to harness innovation and unlock business potential, strengthen existing industries and prepare regional Queenslanders for jobs of the future.

GW3 and BHP announced in December 2018 the details of a three-year strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the economic sustainability of the Greater Whitsunday region. The partnership was an endorsement of the organisation’s commitment to pursuing economic growth for future generations. The key projects GW3 have commenced delivering as part of the BHP partnership include preparing workforces of the future, advancing water stewardship and strengthening local supply chains.

GW3 delivers the Isaac Business Support Program through a strategic partnership with the Local Buying Foundation (LBF). The LBF is designed to enhance the economic sustainability of local regions through the support of programs and initiatives that target local business training and development needs.

GW3 is currently collaborating with The MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration program (MIT) Reap provides opportunities for communities around the world to engage with MIT in an evidence-based practical approach to strengthening innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems.

The Mackay Isaac Whitsunday Region has been selected to participate in the Sub-REAP pilot initiative due to it having Queensland’s most dense agricultural feedstock area, as well as a demonstration of Bio Futures capabilities through established Bio-Commodities and Bio-Refinery Plants.
